Overview i.e. what the makers say
"Ours is a deliberately small company, well funded and thriving . . . and based in England.
We operate in the audiophile end rather than mass-market end of the industry and we deliberately keep a low profile. This is because every piece of LFD equipment is truly hand built – which means that production is not large and therefore every one of our models is subject to delivery delay varying from three weeks through to some months.
Demand for our products is steady and usually comes about through word-of-mouth. We never advertise – although some of our retailers do so on our behalf. We’re grateful for this, but we don't encourage it as, for some years now (including the current recession), our order book has remained full and production near capacity.
Through choice, we have no marketing department and therefore we happily ignore the PR circus that is so important to some makers when asking favours from audio magazines.
Our products are occasionally reviewed and those that are, are never left on permanent loan with reviewers. That’s not the game we play. In fact . . . we don’t play any games at all. With us, what you see is what you get. We let our products speak for us. We do respond to requests from publications for review samples, but we don’t employ anyone to raise our profile in the consumer press.
All of this might seem quaint, eccentric and old fashioned. Well, perhaps. However we, and our customers, rather like it like that!
We design and build in England the most musically competent equipment that current state-of-the-art components and careful design will allow.
We specialise in:
- amplification
- phono stages
- analogue interconnects
- digital interconnects
- loudspeaker cables
We sell our products through a very small number of audiophile specialists.
We don't sell direct to the public.
All our products carry a full 12 month parts and labour warranty and because of the very high reliability on all our products, some of our retailers offer substantially longer warranties.
Our designs are proprietary which means that unlike some other makers we don'’t buy in preloaded off-the-shelf circuit boards or apply similar cost cutting exercises. In many instances, key components such as the torroids that are part of our power supplies and our multi-diameter silver interconnects used internally in our more advanced products are built exclusively to our demanding designs and are not available for purchase by other makers.

LFD Interconnects – Analogue
Prices quoted are for stereo pairs, professionally terminated with high quality RCA / Phono terminations. Currently LFD are not offering their interconnects with XLR / Balanced terminations.
0.7m is the minimum length they supply and 1.25m is the most popular. Other lengths can be quoted for if you ask. Stereonow offer generous trade-in allowances when you move from one level of LFD interconnect up to another one. Please feel free to ask about this.

The standard length is 1.25m. These can be supplied with a the SME termination at one end, either straight or right-angle with very high quality RCA / phono plugs at the other. Each of the three is offered as a screened option.
