Which ones sounded better to you, the original black aluminium version shown at the Heathrow show or the Oak ones?

You’re talking about the Podium-One I guess? If so, then initially I thought the oak version was musically more credible. However after a while I realised that the black prototypes with the lightweight aluminium frame were more musically compelling and certainly more entertaining than the more sophisticated-looking but slightly muted oak ones.

No. I’d buy a pair of Eminent Technology LFT-8b ribbon speakers. In fact, I did.

Some ‘experts’ on forums said that the Podium’s lacked real bottom end. True or false.
Answer
Complete rubbish. They had terrific bass. The point is that for some of these forum nutters, if it isn’t a Linn Isobaric type of bass, then it’s no good. Bonkers. There are in my view many reasons for not buying Podium-One speakers today, but lack of bass weight most certainly isn’t one of them!
