Question

I am staggered. Stereonow stocking a cheap brand like this? What goes on?

Answer

Hmm. (visualise HP scratching his head, stroking his chin, etc). The simple answer is that there is a market niche for decent value, reliable and entertaining entry-level gear sold by someone that isn’t a pile it high and sell it cheap box shifter. I'm not in that end of the market. Moreover NAD offers a very respectable entry level for those of my customers who aren’t ready for LFD or Lyngdorf.

And I nearly forgot; I really like the sound NAD gear makes.
I'm only stocking their 2-channel range. I’ve no interest in AV, home cinema or anything like that.

Question

How can you compete on price with the likes of Richer Sounds, Sevenoaks and box shifters?

Answer

I can’t compete on price. I compete on value. It’s an entirely different battleground. Value is in my view value-added by which I mean adding facilities that the box-shifter can’t or won’t. here are two examples.

  1. I offer a 28 day Buy-without-risk / Sale-or-Return on all NAD gear. I don’t give credit notes. If the NAD you buy from me doesn’t suit, then I give a full refund rather than a credit note.
  2. Buy say an entry level NAD CD player and if you trade it in within three months of ownership for a superior model, then I’ll give you a 100% vat-inclusive trade-in allowance. Trade in at six months and you get 90%. Trade in at 12 months and you get 75%. Guaranteed.
