Question
Why Grado Mr P?
Answer
Well . . . it’s like this. Many people like listening through headphones and yet in the main headphones are not treated seriously by the retail audio industry – especially at the snooty end of the market with twerps who like to bang on about PraT (pace, rhythm and timing) and bouncing up and down like the Glasgow-trained half-wits that they are. I like listening through headphones and I make no apologies for this. I’ve heard detail through my old STAX earspeakers that no speaker system can reveal when seated away from the speakers.
Being a STAX retailer, especially given intermittent unreliability and cheap direct imports from the USA and Japan was certainly no walk in the park. It was a lot of hassle for me and sometimes worse for the end-user in my experience.
Anyway, the demand for decent headphones offered by a friendly, flexible and established retailer is still there. And so I'm setting out to meet that demand. Having listened around, then beyond the £100 price border, it seems to me that Grado have no serious competition. It was – for me – either Grado headphones, or no headphones. Simple as that.

STAX Omegas or Grado PS1000?

Question
How reliable are Grado phones and what is the service turnaround Howard?
Answer
No idea re reliability because I’ve not had any fresh stock yet. My own pairs bought privately long before I was thinking of becoming a Grado specialist have been 100% reliable so far. I’ve not had occasion to use the importer’s service dept, so I can’t answer that. Sorry.
